So here we have a great bride! Stephanie is getting married in December and we decided to head out and get some great shots on a great day...it wasn't hot, had great lighting and a nice breeze! It always helps when the bride is up for anything and so we did just that...anything...
She was a doll to work with and was always laughing which was simply meaning one thing...she was having a great time! So were we!
Enjoy!!!

Kendall + Stace
Now this was a rootin tootin wedding! Okay, I just had to say that. Kendall, if you recall, was our gorgeous bride whose bridals we presented previously at the McNay...the one who I had to have on my volleyball team! We had a great time shooting this one. It started at Mario's salon on Broadway and took off from there. Kendall was a very down-to-earth bride who you could get along with so easily. Her sisters, Aleigh and Suzanne were a blast to hang out with along with their parents. Stace was a great groom to work with and as with all grooms during football season, the football was on the big screen! Check out the minister grabbing some time in front of the tube watching some great college football!
The reception was at the Buckhorn Saloon on Houston Street which offered a very strong theme to their reception which is exactly what they were going for. The ceremony was at the beautiful Alamo Heights United Methodist.
Here are some details:
Hair & Make-up: Marios Salon on Broadway at Sunset
Church: Alamo Heights United Methodist
Reception: Buckhorn Saloon
Flowers: Danny Cuellar
Well, enjoy! Yee Haw!!!! KENDALL + STACE

Interpol....You gotta check them out!!!
Well, I finally have jumped on the Interpol bandwagon. I had the chance to check them out up in Austin, and let me tell you, they put on one hell've a show!!! It was at Stubb's BBQ and at first, I thought that the place was kind've a dump but after Interpol went on stage, the sound was remarkable! If you're a concert freak, then you know what I mean when I say that there are places where the sound is horrible and the band plays like they just woke up....not this one....they sounded as sharp and clear as they do on their albums....
Here are some videos to check out if you've never heard them before. Evil is a great and addictive song but the video kinda gives me the creeps...that puppet is scarey!!!! I also love PDA....great video...
Also, pick up their new album if you already haven't....well worth it!!! The voice reminds me so much of Ian Curtis from Joy Division. If you know who this is, I commend you....if you know who they became after the tragic loss of Ian, then I need to buy you a beer....in case you don't, they became New Order...now I know you've heard songs from them....if you've ever gone out dancing, you've heard of them....
Well, here are some videos...ENJOY!!!

Christy + Aaron...A Great Day!!!
Well, I was very sad to see this day come and go as quickly as it did. Christy has been one of our favorite brides of all time simply because of the bond we were able to develop with her and her family. We did her sister Tami's bridals which you will see on the new website and also, Jenny (from Jenny + Josh) was also a part of this big day. This wedding also presented us with something we have never done before...a double bridal session with Christy and Tami...unfortunately, we didn't have much time to spend doing this session, but the invite is always open to y'all! The wedding was great and we had the extreme pleasure of spending the day with Christy, Tami, Jenny and everyone who took part in this day. What was very special, as well, was the fact that Christy's father was also the minister of the ceremony which adds a special touch to an already beautiful day.
Like I said, we're sad that the wedding is past but we can now look forward to photographing all the children that Christy and Aaron and Tami and Justin will have...all 12 of them....each....LOL...just kidding...
Here are some of the vendors and locations of this great day:
Ceremony - St Luke's Episcopal Church
Reception - The Club at Sonterra
Make-up - Madame Make-up
Cake - Cathy Young
Video - Video Wave
It was great working with all of them...
Well, enjoy and lets hear some great feedback! CHRISTY + AARON

Life Throws Curve Ball - Studio Broken Into Last NIght
Well, everyone...bad news from the MR Photography camp. Our studio was burglarized last night and when we arrived this morning, the police were already going through trying to figure out how and what happened. Unfortunately, we had several large items taken, to include the large TV in the meeting area, a lot of camera equipment, one of our computers, microwave and a lot of things that we have no understanding as to why they would've taken the stuff to begin with...such as sample albums, prints and other things related specifically to the business. We've alerted the local camera stores and have begun the process of getting out serial numbers, etc. Luckily, no files or anything related to our clients was taken which really is a breath of fresh air, but since we keep doubles of everything off the premises anyways, we would have been safe regardless.
Its a shame how hard we work (in general) only to have people who can't go out and get real jobs and go and steal from those of us who work for what we have. You always feel like its not going to happen to you and then, it does. Luckily, everything we have that was taken can be replaced.
Then, I got home this morning to find out one of my dogs is sick so I had to clean up after her and rush her to the vet...so keep your prayers open for her.
Well, despite everything we've gone through today, we're still a strong studio and will continue on business as usual. If you are trying to get hold of Jamie today via email please keep in mind that her computer is in la la land so it may take a couple of days for her to get back to you. Also, if you need anything, you can still reach me at info@marcusrevilla.com or here at the studio.
thanks for all the calls and support!
We love you guys!
Marcus and team...

Tanie + Jay....WHOOP!!!!
Okay....what are some of my favorite things? Motorcycles, German Shepherds and AGGIES!!! Oh yeah! Man, this wedding was all that and thensome...we had a blast shooting this one along with spending time with Tanie and Jay...they were a great couple and wish this wedding hasn't passed us by. The reception was rowdy and boy, I'm sure there are a couple of people who didn't remember this one come Monday morning! Just kidding...
A big shout out to everyone who gave us some great shots! Here is some info behind this great event!
Church - Our Lady of Grace
Reception - Hotel Valencia....Carolina is one of the best hotel coordinators out there! She will take care of you.
Flowers - Botanika....okay, are we seeing a trend here? Once again, she knocks the socks off the bride (not that she was wearing socks) and impressed with Botanikas higher than normal standards in the industry...
Make-up - Johanna with Make-up Maven Cosmetics...not only is she a gorgeous woman, her work precedes her. She is fast and thorough...you'll be seeing a lot of upcoming bridals and weddings featuring her work...we're thinking of keeping exclusive to Veilvet and Johanna...she is located at the Versi Salon on Broadway...
This wedding is for the books! Enjoy! TANIE + JAY

Barbie + JB...Big D in SA!!!
So, as always, this past weekend gave us a great couple...you might remember Barbie and JB from their photos we did awhile back in Dallas. Their wedding was a gorgeous outside wedding with the beautiful Melissa White from Botanika providing the great flowers everywhere from the bouquets to the throw petals and table settings.
Ceremony + Reception: Marriott Plaza San Antonio
Here is the link to their slideshow, Barbie + JB
Thanks and enjoy!

Sarah + Scott...
We had the great opportunity to capture this big day with Sarah and Scott. Scott is currently in the police academy so give him your well wishes for his success and safety! Their wedding was a little scarey at the church since there isn't a stairwell to the balcony but rather a very steep ladder...needless to say, I utilized my ninja skills and climbed up there to capture the ceremony. Good luck Sarah and Scott!!!
The venues were:
Ceremony - Alamo Heights United Methodist Church
Reception - Holy Trinity Catholic Church
Enjoy!
Here is the link... Sarah + Scott
Jenny + Josh...One Great Couple!
So where do I start with this one...
Jenny and Josh are definitely a great couple and very, very, very fun to work with...after the engagement session, I knew this was going to be a cool wedding. The hospitality was flying all through the wedding and the wedding party were also cool to hang with...not to mention, this wedding had 3 of my brides present...that's always cool....
So here is a basic breakdown of the locales...
Ceremony: Parker Chapel, Trinity University
Reception: Pearl Stables

Rachel + Aaron...Tearin Up Boerne!!!
Hey guys...we set out for Boerne one Sunday morning and caught up with Rachel and Aaron...they're getting married in Houston and unfortunately, we're not shooting the wedding but at least we had the pleasure of doing their engagements. We set out from everywhere from downtown out to a creek where I jumped in the water with them and got some cool shots. The cool thing is one, they're Aggies...two, Aaron was in the Corps which rocks in my book! Congrats guys and we all wish you two the best in May '08!!!

Sara + Jessie = The Coast!
Whenever we have the opportunity to head to the coast, we definitely grab it. Sara and Jessie are getting married up here in SA in December and asked if we could head down there for a session...and we certainly obliged...it was great and had the opportunity to grab some great seafood (courtesy of the grooms mother) for lunch! Mmmmmm!!!!!! They were easy and fun to work with...enjoy!

Michelle + John...the groom has game!
We met up with Michelle and John one morning and decided to stroll downtown for some random locations and great shooting...these two were really into each other and at first, it seemed that John was a little shy but I challenged him on his game and whether or not he had it...he did...and it shows. We're looking forward to their December wedding...!

Chelsea + Leo at the Arboretum...
Chelsea and Leo are a great couple. They reside in Dallas but are getting married down here in SA in October. Since we were up in Dallas, we wanted to make sure we had the opportunity to go out and do some shooting with them. Leo is a guitarist and wooed Chelsea with his melodies...btw, he rocks! Great musician...played some Dave Matthews by request. This is also going to be a great and big wedding...be looking for their images to come in November!

Caci + Scott...in Big D!
Caci and Scott are engaged and getting married in Lubbock in May of next year. We're excited about this one because its gonna be a big one! We headed up to Dallas to grab some shots of them at the Canals of Las Colinas. Sunday morning is the best time to be there since there isn't a lot of shooters there at that time. Caci was a bit nervous at first since we had never met but after awhile, we got her and Scott to relax and enjoy the shoot...we hope you enjoy, as well!!!

I've been tagged!
Yes...I've been tagged by those mischievous girls over at Anne Marie Photography...so here's what happens...I have to give everyone eight facts about myself and then go on and tag 8 other photographers...here we go...
1. I graduated from St Mary's Univ with a degree in biochemistry. Yes, I have both a left- and right-brain. About a month away from leaving for med school, I backed out...I had already purchased my books and everything but decided medicine wasn't for me...
2. I have a love for animals and especially German Shepherds. I have 3 of them...Malia, Sunshine and Phenneus! I love them all even though they give me extreme headaches and run amock...and run my house, as well. Cesar Millian would find another career if he had to come work with them.
3. I love motorcycles and have a Ducati. Its yellow...my car is yellow...I hate yellow...don't ask me why I have a yellow car and motorcycle.
4. I have a beautiful 14 yo daughter who just started high school. Very sad about that...any know of a good convent?
5. My favorite shows are Entourage, Weeds and Californication
6. I am a huge Pearl Jam fanatic...and always will be.
7. I never thought in a million years I would be a photographer. In fact, I was the guy who would laugh and make fun of the yearbook geeks as they carried their cameras around the high school.
8. I'm a cancer survivor. Yep...thats right...
Okay...now I have to hire 8 friends to send this tag to....

A session with Kendall....
Kendall and I had a blast on this session. Her family joined us on this escapade and dad brought along his camera as well. I have to say, although he was shooting Nikon, he wasn't too bad of a guy...lol...
The bride was definitely free-spirited and a great sport on doing whatever and I have to say, she is tall too!!! Whenever I get my volleyball team together, I know who my first pick is going to be...
Well, enjoy everyone and wish Kendall great joy in her wedding coming up in October!!!
